Sometimes a cartoon says all the right stuff….

Yep, it’s come around once again.  This year after trick or treating we’re stopping by some friends for a Hallowe’en party. We’re all in costume (well sort of…TBM is wearing a jester hat…oooooo…scary! LOL)

Today I have a little baking to do, some housecleaning, workout a little, pop out for a few groceries…I k now,  such an exciting life I lead LOL. I’m actually looking forward to the domesticness of my day. Life has been so busy that I kind of miss it!

Tomorrow littleman has his semi-final playoff game.  Cross your fingers that we win!

I can’t believe just how much time has passed between posts! So much has happened that I’ve been literally run off of my feet!

• we found our venue AND put down the deposit. We’ve decided on the Pavillion Royale   http://www.pavilionroyale.com/  We are very happy with the deal that we got and certainly hope that our guests are going to have a blast!
• I found my dress…and that’s all I’m saying about that!
• We’ve decided upon and begun the process of design for our Save the Dates and our Invitations…. (just a sneak peek)
• Littleman’s football team is currently in second place and will play this weekend in the semi-finals! When we win this one we will proceed to the finals where we face our rivals….
• Last night’s football practice included of a game of 2 hand touch parents against players. It was a toughie, but parents were victorious with 1 touchdown. I myself managed to prevent a touchtown just before I took a total wipeout! Needless to say, the right side of my body has a little more colour to it thanks to the few bruises I aquired! All in the name of fun!
• We now have 5 teapots for the centrepieces with only 10 more to go….and we’ve still got to keep our eyes open and collect up a tone of teacups.

At least this is how it feels! Yep, we changed our day back to the 24th…..what a frickin’ yo-yo!

Story…. the venue of our choice (or so I thought) gave away our day to another bride. At first I was like, ya, okay, no biggie…then as I had time to muster over it I decided hey, it IS a big deal! We chose that day for a reason. Not only that, but if she was going to be so casual with that change, what’s to say that I can rely on here to follow through on other important aspects of my wedding day. It left me a little miffed and very unsure.

So, we decided that we are continuing to look for another venue. We’ve got an appointment on Saturday morning in fact….just before I go dress shopping with my girls!

Walking, walking, walking….(as I have that Rawhide song in my head).   Yep, walking like a madwoman twice a week and toning up twice a week has permitted me to fit into a skirt that was hidden deep inside my closet. Hidden because it shrunk! Well, may it didn’t, maybe it stayed the same and I grew, but either way, it fits again now! YAY!!!!!

School is back in full force for littlebigman, homework and all….OH THE HORROR!!!  LOL Actually, he’s surprised me a few times by taking the initiative of completing it during his after school program…who’s child is this?! I know…..I know…mine….see, I have this rule about no computer/tv/video/games/phone until homework is done. We both take that very seriously. I’m pleased to see that he’s making the decisions that he is!

YAY! We’ve got ourselves a venue! Boo… we’ve changed the date. YAY! I’m a Mrs. a whole week sooner! YAY! I’m having an outdoor ceremony  . Boo…we won’t be having an outdoor garden reception. YAY! We found invitations that I love! Boo… we have to choose 1 of the 2 designs we like…LOL. Oh the drama….. Basically, the venue we hoped to get offered us a GREAT deal, however, my wedding date had already been booked by another bride! AHHHHHHHH! Ok, but, the weekend prior to was free…so, there you have it. My new wedding date is  July 17, 2010 (now I just have to keep saying it in my head so that I remember!)

Soap opera material on the minor league bulldog football field.   We have a coach with his nose out of joint because he keeps forgetting he is not the head coach, we have parents interfering with the practices, we have a child who has behavioural issues that cause conflict between the dynamics, we have accusations of an inappropriate manner made in an inappropriate way, we have apologies made after-the-fact, we have parents interfering with the plays, we have parents gossiping on the sidelines (oi!) and then we have my assistant manager and myself….walking, walking, walking LOL

 Toronto Bridal show this Saturday! Just for fun mostly, but you know I’ve gotta walk in there with my ‘let’s make a deal’ hat on! One just never knows…

So….how’s YOUR everyday life?

Still no phone call, e-mail, letter written in blood from the x to his son explaining why everything else always takes precedence over his visits and spending quality time together.  Gee…how shocking is that!

Day one of back to school went off without a hitch! Littleman was dreading his return a little because he discovered that he got the one teacher he did not want. Turns out she’s not as horrible as he was led to believe…hmmmmmmm….imagine, other children exaggerating….LOL

 Speaking of littleman’s teacher, she sent him home last night with homework….FOR ME!!!!! While we’re talking homework, littleman had a little bit to do as well. It was an info sheet for his teacher. Of course he put me down and mom/guardian….but what got me was how casual he was about putting TBM’s name down in the dad/guardian spot. There it was, TBM’s name, as if it was always supposed to be there. 

I just might have finally found my venue for my wedding! I’m making an appointment with the co-ordinator to go over a few things, but the price is going to be well within our budget, and the selections are fabulous!

 I bought my very first wedding teapot! I know…this in itself sounds a little silly, but I’m using teapots with a bouquet inside as my table centerpieces    The head table will have teacups   

I feel like things are finally started…..

What else could I say to littleman’s father when he cancelled his visit the morning……again! It’s been what, at least 2 months now since he last visited, since he last saw littleman.

I’m thinking maybe, jut for a little while could he not just grow up a little and think of someone else…like his son!

 Sigh…..lets hope these line of communication stay wiiiiiiiiide open for a VERY long time…and lets hope he stays as innocent for as long as possible…
