Little Miss Mornin’Mom has bestowed another tag on me. I have to delve deep within myself and come up with 6 words that define my life……oi! This is NOT an easy one!

1. Mom – I’ve always been one. Not technically until I turned 27, but I’ve always been the mom type of personality….

2. Believer – in myself, in the future, in my son, in my family, in love, in the positives, in hope….

3. Family – my strength, my backbone, my heart

4. Determination – without it I could not have left, could not have survived, would not be who I am today

5. Proud – of who I’ve become, of my wonderful angel littleman, of who w both will be

6. Perseverence - to me this stands for courage, heart, stamina, holding on, surviving.

As of today I am a mere 3lbs away from my goal! YAY!!!!! It’s been a decent journey….and once I get there the goal will be all about KEEPING it off! LOL…ya, like THAT’s going to be fun 

Well after having a good chuckle at QTmama’s guest blog about how to spot a jerk over at Ms Single Mama’s , I just HAD to play this video….enjoy the lyrics!

Soooooo…..our sweet, sweet mommiepie has tagged me with THIS opportunity to share a few things with you about myself that you may/or may not know. As per instruction,  here is the rule:

 “Tell us/me/the world 10 interesting/random/quirky/normal/silly things about yourself … things you’re looking forward to, things about you personally, whatever you want.”  So…..here we go!

1. I enjoy working out but ONLY if I can manage to squeeze it in anytime between the hours of 6 and 7:30 pm. Anytime before 6, I’m generally working, anytime after 7:30, I get an attack of the “can’t get off my a$$”

2. If I could, I would live on a diet of lasagna, peanut butter, dark chocolate and mashed potatoes slathered in butter…but I can’t…so I won’t.

3. I’ve always wanted a tattoo but am scared to death of getting one. I’m afraid of the pain. I squeezed out a 9lb 6oz baby boy naturally…but am terrified of the needle! Go figure Ha!

4. For a short while during my pre-littleman years, my hours got cut back and I needed to make ends meet. I took a night job…as a sex phone operator……I was VERY good at my job

5. I have a birthmark on my elbow that looks like a patch of dirt.

6. My secret blog read is Belle de Jour. (I guess it’s not a secret anymore eh! LOL!)

7. My absolute favourite ice cream is Jamoica Almond Fudge. I practically lived on it during my pregnancy.

8. I waited until I was 18 to loose my virginity.

9. I am sadly addicted to Pride and Prejudice and am a hopeless romantic. (and no, it’s NOT because Colin Firth is in it, but it helps…he IS YUMMY!)

10. I am still dreaming/looking forward to the day that I fall blissfully in love. I’ve never been there…so it better be awesome…and it better be soon!

I’m sad.

Not a crying sad, more like a frustrated sad. More like an ‘I’m failing at motherhood’ sad.

Littleman is currently going through a challenging stage.  A debating stage. A negotiating stage. An “I’m 8 and know everything” stage. Now I know this is a ll normal and challenging is supposed to happen, but I’m currently at my wits end. He’s got it in his head (and I TOTALLY blame peer influence) that it’s ok to talk back and not have to listen. Yep, you betcha! That does NOT go over famously with me! LOL. That poor boy is going to have a rough start to the school year if he keeps this up. By rough time I mean coming home from school and spending an awful lot of quality time with himself in his room WITHOUT tv, computer or stereo to keep him company. I am sooooooooo not impressed.

I just don’t understand why kids think it’s ok to be disrespectful these days. I realize that with tv, movies, games, peer influence, they are simply surrounded by it, but as a parent, how do I put a cap on it? I do my best, and this is a new phase for me, but sometimes I know that I see myself struggling with it. I think that I’m just going to have to be more firm, quicker to react, and calmer in the reaction.  I WILL NOT raise a disrespectful child. My littleman WILL turn this phase around….because I said so…. and I’m the mom

A whole week to go….and I’m ready for the weekend already!

Well, the weekend is over. The couple is happily married and off on their honeymoon. My duties as bridesmaid are over.

TIME TO CELEBRATE !!!!!!

Ok, in all seriousness, it wasn’t that bad. The day was fun (except for the brides daughter who decided that because the day wasn’t all about her, she would make it that way by having temper tantrums    ….all day….). I got my hair put up and it was smokin’, I had my make-up done by the sweetest little gay guy in MAC and he did an AWESOME job. My dress gave me ample room to breathe but I filled it out well. The ceremony went smoothly and we partied and danced and drank the night away!

ps……I even got asked out for drinks by the best man!

I managed to make it home at a fairly decent hour, pulled 73 bobby pins out of my hair and dropped into bed.

Beep..Beep..Beep……it’s 8am and my alarm went off…yep, it was time to get up, showered and off to pick up littleman (who slept over at a friends house), and take him to football practice for 10am!!!! You betcha, I’m a trooper! LOL

Sunday was all about my mom. We had her 55th (shhhhhhh…don’t tell her I mentioned her age) birthday party …errrr…anniversary of her favourite birthday .   

and now……I’m ready for a looooooong nap!

…some of the ‘drama’ I  have been going through with this wedding, here is a copy of the e-mail the other bridesmaid and I got the other day from the Maid-of-Honour…..

Hello Ladies,

Well – only 2 days to go until the big day! I am getting very excited and ready to see XXXXX and OOOO say “I do”!
As you both may know, XXXXX is under a tremendous amount of stress right now.  She is now off work and preparing for the wedding and honeymoon. She has been working very hard over the past months to make this day special and as it is approaching she still has alot to do. As her friend and Maid-of-honour it is my job to make sure that these next days are as stress free for XXXXX as possible. 

I am asking kindly that under NO CIRCUMSTANCES is ANYONE to call XXXXX from this point forward.  If there are ANY issues (big or small) please contact me – you can get me by email, phone at home or cell .  This is not a request.

Please feel free to bring tomorrow anything you would like to use to get ready on Fri – example makeup or shoes (as a note please know that black shoes are a must for the wedding if you are still last minute shoe hunting)or any extras. We can keep them in the room with our stuff so you will have less to bring down Fri morning.

I appreciate this. If you need anything – even a last minute question – call me.
I am looking forward to seeing you both tomorrow evening for the rehersal.

ARE YOU FREAKIN’ KIDDING ME!!!!! Are WE not a part of the bridal party and is it NOT our job to also help with the last minute details etc to help lift any stress?  Needless to say, the other bridesmaid and I agrees….this sets a ‘WONDERFUL’ (I say dripping with sarcasm) tone for the next 2 days!

….guess who was apparently measured wrong

…. guess what seamstress what appalled by the shoddy job her co-worker did on my dress

….guess what store manager was SHOCKED that I was made to order a dress 6 times my size!!! Yep…6 TIMES MY SIZE 

….guess who’s dress is being opened up and restitched..properly and will be ready by Wednesday

….guess who is being recommended for a refund for some of her costs to the owner by the staff

….guess who is finally relieved that some of the ‘dress-stress’ is finally resolved

….guess who is going to look HOT for her friend’s wedding
