Out of the mouths of babes…. July 7, 2008

So littleman and I were out and about this weekend. We stopped in to pick up some groceries, all the while kidding around and being a little silly. I chose to do the ’self-check out’, littleman like to help with the scanning. As we are progressing, he notices the amount on the screen and proclaims that I’m spending an awful lot. I decide to tease him back stating” That’s because SOMEBODY insists on eating so much, but you know, you’re right! That’s it…you’re cut off. No more food for you! LOL”
The lady scanning her groceries beside us had apparently been listening to all this and found it amusing. She spoke up and said “Parents are tough eh! Good thing you only have two of them!”
Littleman looked at her and very calmly and very clearly said “nope…I’ve just got one“ So matter-of-fact.
The poor woman didn’t know what quite to say so I jumped in quickly and said “we like it that way, then we only have to share with each other” with a big smile and a wink. She then smiled back and confirmed that indeed sometimes that is definitely the best.

Ok, the wraps are ordered, the sweets are ordered, the plates are bought, the napkins are bought, the decorations are picked up, the games list prepared and passed to the other bridesmaids for review, the grocery list prepared, the towel wedding cake centre piece created
….phew! I’m exhausted!!
I am currently responsible for hosting my friend’s bridal shower. I am not the maid of honour, but am one of the bridesmaids, and offered to have it at my place in the backyard. The gardens are very beautiful this time of year.

We’re having a ‘Sunday Afternoon in the Gardens affair’ with finger foods, chilled iced tea, pretty dresses and big hats. Classy, elegant and relaxed all in one. She deserves it. This will be her second marriage, but her first wedding. So the briadal party has agreed that this entire wedding, from beginning to end, is as if this is her first of everything. I hope she enjoys it!
